The 21st century is the current century of the Anno Domini era or the Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001, and will end on December 31, 2100. From radio, television to Laptop, tablets, cellphone and what not. We have come across various new technologies and not much aware of in the process. From led screen -> Plasma -> LCD -> smart TV -> 3-D->4-K and many timeline are known. Social Media has now been defined as websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. And it is the giant means of communication to reach out millions of people out there.

Power of Social Media

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snap-chat, etc, these are the basic and known media we know to share our feed, photos, videos, location. Pretty everything and every detail of our lives are online and we can access it any time and the moment we want and every data is in our reach at a real time. What more we could want. Let us consider an example you have done your school year back and you had lost your connection with your dear friend and one fine day you log in you SNS id you see what you find your friend and you could now stay connected, well this is a smaller version. Lets now say you have a VR headset and you can see everything 360 degrees and see all around being a part of the place. Well I wonder you could imagine or not I could and at some corner, people have started living this experience with YouTube 360 videos, well I can now say this is the bigger version and I could fell no less than a superhero as this is the ability of a superhero. And many abilities are in queue with google glass, car.

Data Security

Data security refers to the process of protecting data from unauthorized access and data corruption throughout its lifecycle. Data security includes data encryption, tokenization, and key management practices that protect data across all applications and platforms.

So, Sir can we say by sharing all our information and data online are our data safe. Does, These companies taking perfect care that our data do not get trade with the 3rd party companies and our data is in the right hand, can these social media companies guarantee this thing. Might be yes or might be not.

I think not. Breaching of data is a serious case.

  1. Yahoo: 3 billion accounts in 2013.
  2. Yahoo: 500 million accounts in 2014.
  3. Marriott/Starwood: 500 million guests in 2018.
  4. Friend Finder Networks: 412 million accounts in 2016.
  5. Equifax: 146 million accounts in 2017.

one of the case we can see is with the GOOGLE +, due to the reason of security is needed to be shut and imagine how big tech giant is google and what status it has maintained. Well, what to say no one can be trusted. Well, the fun fact Google never deletes your data/mail from its server if you delete or so it always remains with them and they could use it whenever and whatever they want.

What can be DONE…

Try sharing your data publicly less often.

Make your past post deleted or make is private on your interest.

Keep complex Passwords.

Keep your antivirus updated.

If you observe something miscellaneous change your password immediately.

Use Mozilla Firefox for browsing it is a safer browser of all I fell well chrome is fine too.

Keep your privacy updated.

Note: Share your data with care.

WELL, PEACE.
